Who we are and what we do!
The Washington Township Firefighters Association is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to serve the Washington Township Fire Department, its members and our community. In years past, the Association has used proceeds from its fundraising efforts to purchase fire trucks, 2-way radios, tone activated radio systems, firefighting tools, EMS equipment, safety products, and firefighter apparel. Most recently the proceeds from the 65th Annual Ice Cream Social were used to purchase GPS units for all front line apparatus. The 66th Social proceeds allowed us to install CO monitors and upgraded LED flashlights in our equipment. In 2015 we worked with the department to upgrade our firefighter's helmets, this project has continued in 2016 & 2017. Recently we purchased a thermal manikin to be used in training and a hose rolling system to help eliminate work place injuries. We also have sponsored specialized training sessions to improve our firefighting & EMS skills and have recently installed Cancer Prevention Kits on all Fire apparatus. This year we purchased 12 Thermal Imaging Cameras to be placed on front line apparatus. All of these items are currently being used every day, every shift, to help enhance the services we provide to our community.
The success of the Association is largely funded by community donations and additional fund raisers. Follow the donate tab above for more information!
